Rabid Reset...

moving at the pace of recovery

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love.

Psalm‬ ‭33‬:‭18

REFLECTION

Recovery insulates us from the life we were fleeing. It allows space between us and the drunk world while we figure out the way forward.

It’s a refuge, yes. But then quickly it becomes a vessel too.

The fellowship with others who have recovered becomes valuable currency in our new quest for freedom.

The meetings become a reintroduction to a God we either had not considered helpful or had thought wouldn’t be interested in us.

This is where all roads lead. Back to a God we walked away from. Or never knew. Or thought had deserted us.

Turns out we were the ones who left the path.

And though we fell, though we got to the end and were broken, there remains a chance so long as we are willing to consider change.

And what is recovery but a change of everything? A rearrangement of ideas and attitudes. A welcomed reset.

God, please reset me.
